District staff briefed Snyder ISD trustees on statutory changes affecting meeting agenda posting and on a proposed list of non-business days for public information requests.
The minutes note that House Bill 1522 takes effect Sept. 1, 2025, and changes the open-meeting posting requirement from 72 hours to three business days; preliminary legal guidance indicated not to count the posting day or meeting day as part of the three business days. Staff also described proposed non-business days under House Bill 3033, which allows the board to adopt up to 10 additional non-business days for responding to public information requests; the district will align the dates with the instructional calendar and present recommendations at the September meeting.
