Tisbury FinCom authorizes FY26 interdepartmental transfers under state law

At its May 20 meeting the Tisbury Finance and Advisory Committee moved to authorize the Town Accountant and the Treasurer/Finance Director to make fiscal year 2026 interdepartmental and line‑item transfers under Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 44 Section 33B. The motion, moved by Allan Rogers and seconded by Alex Meleney, passed unanimously (6 AYES).
Committee members said FY25 transfers had been minimal and asked staff to identify which departments were in deficit. FinCom noted this authorization is an annual housekeeping measure intended to allow end‑of‑year adjustments without a separate vote for each transfer.
