Council approves municipal signage, PennDOT banner resolution and parade road closures

Red Lion Borough Council voted to purchase signage for the municipal lot and to adopt PennDOT Banner Resolution 2026-5 at the Feb. 9 meeting. Dennis Klinedinst moved to obtain signage, Mark Holloway seconded, and the motion carried. Cindy Barley moved and Evan Heister seconded adoption of the PennDOT Banner Resolution; that motion also passed.
Borough Manager Michelle Poole reported a $10 per square-foot price for signage and said the hometown hero banners are approximately $240 each. Council members agreed to obtain signage and to proceed with the banner resolution; members also agreed to table a proposed amendment to §15-909 Schedule IX (Stop Intersections) until LTAP provides recommendations.
The council also approved blocking borough roads, supplying road barriers and applying for parade permits (motion by Dennis Klinedinst, second by Tony Musso). Staff noted they have not seen enforcement problems when banners remain up beyond three days.
