John Killeen, Chemung Township assessor, told the board the township has 13 new homes under construction, seven of them duplexes, and three solar farms in various stages of construction. He said larger homes priced at about $300,000 and up have stayed on the market, and that the assessor’s office will apply assessments on new outside storage at Greenway Storage on Jan. 1, 2025.
Killeen also reported that an office building at Alumi‑Tank in Bigfoot is progressing toward occupancy this month and that the final appeal for Harvard State Bank was approved by the Board of Review, leaving the township closed for assessment changes in 2024. He said staff continue to assist residents with exemption applications and prepare for next year’s appeal season.
