Highway commissioner reports Oak Grove paving complete; new culverts, equipment updates and surplus sales

Highway Commissioner Nystrom told the board that paving on Oak Grove Road from the east side of the first bridge to Route 14 has been completed and that the township installed new tires on the Kubota tractor and received the remaining ordered road salt.
Nystrom reported cleaning a culvert at the Cody Books property, installing new culverts on Maxon Road (just north of the old Deans plant) and at the corner of N White Oaks Road and Perkins (work performed by Powells), and recycling old culverts via Bear in Woodstock. He said the John Deere backhoe window was damaged, replacement glass was ordered from John Deere and installed by Advantage Auto Glass, a 45 mph sign on Oak Grove Road was replaced, potholes and shoulders were patched and gravel applied, Majestic sealed and striped the parking lot, and two new eyewash stations were purchased to reduce replacement frequency from six months to two years. The township reported proceeds of $1,380.50 from items sold on the Wisconsin Surplus website.
