Commissioners remove E911 director and appoint Debra Simmons effective July 27

At the July 20 meeting the commissioners voted to remove David Clodfelter as E911 Director and demote him effective July 27, 2026. Commissioner Andy Beck made the motion to remove Clodfelter; Tom Helmer seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved bringing back a former dispatcher, Debra Simmons, who currently holds a director position at another county, to the Putnam County E911 department effective July 27, 2026. Commissioner Tom Helmer moved to hire Simmons; Commissioner Rick Woodall seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
