The MPO policy board recommended adding three proposed critical urban freight corridors to the Kansas Department of Transportation’s State Freight and Rail Plan following a staff presentation.
Jeff (Staff member) described two maps — proposed corridors and existing corridors — and said staff was seeking the policy board’s recommendation to forward the additions to the state update. "So we're recommending that these be approved," Jeff said in presenting the proposal. A motion to recommend approval was made, seconded, and approved by roll-call vote with the members present recorded as voting "aye."
The staff presentation noted the corridors were proposed for inclusion in the state plan update and invited attendees with technical knowledge to explain why specific segments were chosen. The board did not record public comments on this item and attendees were encouraged to use the freight-plan public comment tools on the interactive website. The recommendation advances the corridors to the state-level process for final consideration.
