Board approves FFA and theatre trips, IHSA bowling coop and multiple hires
Summary
Central CUSD 4 approved an FFA trip to Indianapolis (Oct. 29–Nov. 1, 2025), a theatre festival trip (Jan. 8–10, 2026), an IHSA bowling cooperative with Kankakee, and a slate of new hires and coaches for 2025–26.
The board approved student travel for the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, 2025, and approved Central High School’s request to attend the Illinois Theatre Festival at Illinois State University Jan. 8–10, 2026. Both trips were approved without dissent.
In personnel actions the board approved a series of hires for the 2025–26 school year, including Samantha Ekovich (Recess Supervisor at Chebanse); volunteer assistant and paid coaches David Sylvester (Volunteer Assistant Wrestling Coach), Chandler Burrow (8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach at Nash), Dylan Miller (7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach at Nash), and David Palan (Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Central); paraprofessional Karamarie Quinto; Best Buddies sponsors Carissa Berns (50% Nash), Molly Clyden (50% Nash) and McKenna Zimmerman (Central); and part-time Case Manager Natosha Allison. The board also approved an IHSA Bowling cooperative agreement with Kankakee High School for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years.
