Public Health director lists new cancer, radon and screening programs to board

Welter’s update listed "New Programs: Combat Cancer Program, Free Radon Test Kits, Dermatoscopes Surveys, Public Access Tablets, Free FIT Testing, Iowa Cancer Consortium Membership, University of Iowa Cancer Partnership, Community Health Improvement Projects Public Health." She also noted environmental-health activities, including Mitchell County environmental-health support, radon measurement specialist certification, and PFAS drinking-water testing.
The programs span prevention, screening and environmental testing and involve outside partnerships. The board received the update; the minutes do not record motions or votes tied directly to funding authorizations for the listed programs.
