Counsel to press Village and County on road ownership; Pelican Sound trimming and MRI driveway credit approved

District counsel Lenore Brakefield summarized the Village of Estero’s position that it does not need to maintain the road west of U.S. 41 to the Clubhouse, while District Counsel Tony Pires said he believes the County is responsible; Mr. Pires will send a letter to the Village and county counsel stating that the Village owns the road per the documents Mr. Willis previously emailed.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported that a plug separating two flow-way basins may have been damaged during clearing and that water is flowing from CB-199 behind 20855 Glen Eagles Links Drive; he will send information to Mrs. Adams for MRI to review and re-establish the plug. Mr. Long said Pelican Sound will trim mangroves at 20918 Island Sound Circle and near Conservation B-2186 and that a surveyor must stake conservation boundaries before work occurs. MRI Construction credited the CDD $10,500 toward a $22,500 driveway repair in the CDD easement; on motion by Mr. Merrill and seconded by Mr. Schultz, with all in favor, MRI Proposal #514 for driveway repairs at 21320 Pelican Sound Drive in the amount of $12,000 was approved.
