The City Council approved Resolution #2026-15 renewing the city employees’ health insurance policy. Chief of Staff Karen Zerante introduced Paul Mizera, vice president of employee benefits at Alliant Insurance, who presented the renewal and said the premium cost of the plan was $1,223,015.00. Mizera reviewed last year’s claims history and answered questions from council members prior to the vote.
Council members discussed the renewal during the presentation and then voted to approve the resolution; the recorded ayes were Smith, Perez, Rodgers, Zaranti and Merrick. No nays or abstentions were recorded. The resolution authorizes the city to continue coverage under the terms presented by Alliant and establishes the premium amount for the renewal period.
