Mark Zordan of Johnson Engineering reported the Lee County NPDES FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report was reviewed and approved by Lee County and will be filed with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in advance of the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. He advised staff to continue into Year 8 while awaiting a new permit expected in the fall.
The board discussed water-sampling requirements that might change in future permit cycles and noted that stormwater ponds are expected to retain runoff and are not held to the same standard as natural lakes. "Lee County reviewed and approved the Report and it will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in advance of the November 1, 2024 deadline," the minutes report.
