At the Jan. 21 City Council meeting, members approved the Dec. 17, 2025 minutes and the 1st and 2nd runs of January bills, including wire and ACH transfers and the check register to date. The minutes and bills votes carried with Ayes: Smith, Rodgers, Baikauskas, Brassea, Zaranti and Merrick; Alderman Sonia Perez was absent.
The council also adopted seven resolutions covering designation of Arbor Day, an IHDA grant amendment, inducement agreements for several city-owned properties, a CMAP intergovernmental agreement for CIP assistance, and a short-term intergovernmental loan to the Chicago Heights Park District. Most resolutions passed unanimously among present members; the Park District loan recorded one abstention by Alderman Wanda Rodgers.
