A committee member said the Community Preservation Committee account for a Bay Ridge connector sign has $8,800 remaining but the project has stalled. "There is $8,800 left in that account, and we've talked about it multiple times," the member said, noting the CPC prefers projects closed out rather than held open indefinitely.
Staff explained MassDOT provided directional bicycle signs at no cost but an access permit is required to place the directional signs on Route 6A; installation on the rail-trail and at the Overland Way spur is permitted. The committee discussed either spending the funds on a small kiosk/map feature for the rail-trail or returning the money and reapplying next year if the MassDOT permit cannot be secured in time.
