Town hears timeline for National Grid Raquette Lake substation work starting March 3

Supervisor Clay J. Arsenault told the board the Town received a construction schedule from National Grid for the Raquette Lake substation project.
"On March 3ʳᵈ there will be a preconstruction meeting on site, and through the month of March civil work will be conducted at the new site. In April the overhead line work will begin, with wooden poles being placed within the new location, eventually new poles will be placed along Route 28. In May underground work is scheduled within the footprint of the new site. By July or August, the old substation will be retired and the site cleaned up with everything removed and grass planted," Arsenault said. The board received the schedule as informational; no vote was taken.
