District administrators reported current enrollments and recent student and staff highlights at the Jan. 21 meeting. Zak Huston reported Central High School enrollment at 232; Tracy Rhea reported Central Junior High enrollment at 232; Chevi Ingalls reported Central Elementary enrollment at 242; Amanda Shoopman reported Central Early Childhood enrollment at 114. Huston also noted the CHS cheer squad took first place at the Winchester Invitational Tournament. The minutes record several upcoming events: sophomores to attend JWCC Career Fair on Feb. 6 and 45 FBLA students to attend a WIU conference on Jan. 23.
Administrators recorded donations and staff recognitions: Central Kiddie Bazaar donated $1,500 to Central Elementary; Jill Gooding was named January staff member of the month; Karleigh Dearwester was named January student of the month. Curriculum updates include district staff receiving a professional-development session on AI in writing from SLD Support Project on March 18 (1:00–2:30). The board also received a quote from Great Minds for 7th–8th grade math curriculum under review.
