The board approved a part-time hire for the EMS department on a motion by Steve, seconded by Isaac. The motion, as recorded in the meeting, approves "a part time hire of Madison Vanwood" at a rate of $15.66 per hour and a start date of Aug. 3, 2026. During budget-amendment discussion staff presented a working list of changes for FY 2026–27, including Board of Health wage items, a $1,500,000 placeholder for capital projects in the new budget and prior transfers totaling $800,000. Staff highlighted Fund 35 (rural infrastructure) project requests — including a south-side Alta Vista patch estimated at $72,000 — and a potential $30,000 allocation from Fund 25 toward the Hampton Water Project. Board members noted funds would not be spent until a future letting in February–March.
