The board approved several policy items and the proposed district calendar during its April 6 meeting.
On the consent agenda the board approved reading and certification items, including a first reading to rescind Policy 6163.1 and approving Policy 5131.111 (Video Surveillance) for first reading; the consent agenda motion passed 6–0. Later in the meeting the board adopted Policy 5113.13 (Work-Study Student Employment/Work-Release) for first reading, and approved Policy 0521 (Nondiscrimination) for first reading after proposed wording corrections; the vote on Policy 0521 was recorded 5–1 (voting no: Mr. Garbini).
The board also approved the proposed 2026–2027 District School Year Calendar by a 5–1 vote; President Maynard-Adams said she intended to vote against the calendar and suggested considering moving some less-popular holidays to create a full February vacation week in future calendar development.
The board approved the March 23, 2026 meeting minutes earlier in the agenda by a 6–0 vote. For items pulled from the consent agenda, the board accepted the Superintendent’s Written Report – Human Resources (motion carried 5–0 while Mr. Martin was temporarily absent).
