Principal Neaveill updated trustees on several school operations items: student report cards to be sent Oct. 18; Leadership Committee meeting scheduled for Oct. 28; earthquake, fire and tornado drills occurred on Oct. 17; staff to complete mandated GCN training by Jan. 3; a flu vaccine clinic on Oct. 2 vaccinated 25 students; and vision and hearing screenings happened Oct. 9 with re‑screens Oct. 16. Neaveill thanked PTO volunteers and named Trudy Vest and Sierra Johnson for work on the Scholastic Book Fair, which raised $6,050 for library and student take‑home books.
Principal Willard reported extracurricular items and student recognition: FFA members placed third in the annual horse judging competition and homecoming activities went well. Willard also said he met with Tony Kirkman from the Piatt County Mental Health Department to discuss services and programs that can be offered to students. The Macon County Rotary Association named Dr. Vicky Gilpin Teacher of the Month for October.
