The Village of Michiana council voted to approve a joint resolution to pursue federal funding for a shared police safety building co-sponsored with the Village of Grand Beach.
Tim McCarthy moved to approve the resolution declaring both villages in agreement to cosponsor and co-sign the federal proposal; Mike Mumper seconded and the motion passed. Council also approved a draft police survey that may be distributed to residents at a later date. During public comment Craig Pierson asked where the new safety building would be located; the council said about four acres near the Grand Beach frontage road was donated for the site.
