Michiana fire chief reports $16,000 raised toward $20,000 Lucas CPR machine

Fire Chief Garry Bendix reported that fundraising for a Lucas CPR machine has proceeded since the department's October pancake breakfast. "At the end of this month, they had raised $16,000 and the machine cost is $20,000," Bendix said, and he explained that contributions should be made out to MSVF and could be mailed or dropped at the fire station on 911 El Portal and placed in the gray mailbox.
Bendix thanked residents for their donations and support of the pancake breakfast and encouraged further contributions to reach the $20,000 goal needed to acquire the device for emergency response.
