Michiana prepares beaches and parks for season; recycling toters removed from beach stops

Council member Brian Cassidy reported that staff and volunteers will ready beach stops for the season, that only two garbage cans will remain at beach stops and that recycling toters are being removed because people were putting garbage in them. Cassidy showed sample stickers with beach-stop numbers that will be placed on toters to make them easier to locate if removed.
Inmates will assist with cleanup at the end of April and planters will be placed at beach stops during the first week of May. The council encouraged residents to take recyclables home if they want to recycle, since no recycle cans will remain at the beach stops this season.
