Council approves community survey on planning; safety-building questions to be separate

Councilmember Mike Botelho reported the Planning Commission and a Planning Task Force have been working with Marcy from Southwest to build a community survey. The plan is to mail the survey with January water bills, include a QR code on a flyer for online response, and return deadlines were discussed—responses would be due by Feb. 7 or Feb. 14. Botelho said residents can also request hard copies at the village office and that weekly reminders would be sent to boost participation.
Council discussed separating questions about a potential public safety building into a later, dedicated survey so exploration of that option can continue without delaying the primary survey timeline; Mike Mumper specifically favored a separate public-safety-building survey later in the year. The council approved moving forward with the initial survey distribution and the separate public-safety-building survey plan.
