Michiana council elects Tim McCarthy president, Brian Cassidy president pro tem

At the start of the Dec. 13 meeting, councilmembers conducted officer nominations. Councilmember Mike Botelho moved to nominate Tim McCarthy as Council President; Brian Cassidy seconded and the nomination was approved unanimously, 5–0. Later, Tim McCarthy moved to nominate Brian Cassidy as President Pro Tem; the motion was seconded by Mike Mumper and approved 5–0.
The votes were taken by roll call and no dissents were recorded. The newly confirmed officers will serve in those roles for the council's forthcoming meetings, with no additional conditions mentioned at the time of the vote.
