Authority outlines FY2027–2031 rate schedule and effective-date plan
Summary
At the July 29 special meeting, the Watertown Water and Sewer Authority incorporated Exhibit A as the proposed schedule of rates for FY2027 and the FY2028–2031 plan and specified that initial FY2027 rates would take effect upon adoption and be reflected in bills issued September–November 2026; subsequent fiscal-year schedules become effective July 1 of each fiscal year.
Nancy presented the motion that incorporates Exhibit A as the complete proposed schedule of standard current and initial FY2027 rates and the FY2028–2031 plan. The motion states that if the board adopts rates following the public hearing, "the initial FY2027 rates and charges shown in Exhibit A shall take effect upon adoption and firstly reflected in the bills issued after adoption was September through November 2026." The motion also specifies that FY2028–2031 rate schedules would become effective on July 1 of the applicable fiscal year.
The motion further directs that special customer classifications be adjusted by the same percentage increase applicable to the corresponding standard service charge unless an applicable agreement or law requires otherwise. Exhibit B was described as illustrative customer-impact information to be included in the hearing materials and not a replacement for Exhibit A.
