Tree Board outlines plantings, grant timeline and Arbor Day event

Nancy Thill, speaking for the Tree Board, said new trees purchased with grant funds will be planted in the park on Sept. 24 and that the board must submit paperwork by Sept. 30 documenting expenditures; the grant completion date is Sept. 1, 2025. Thill also said AEP has resumed its tree trimming work.
Thill invited residents to Arbor Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11:00 a.m. EST and noted the board is considering reapplying for additional grant funding in 2025. The board's activities tie into the larger park renovation and planting plans discussed later in the council meeting.
