The Minidoka County Joint School District board convened a special meeting March 10 to review the district audit. Auditor Jacob Catmull presented the completed audit and stated the district received a clean audit; he also summarized the district’s fund balance and how much was committed to contingency and unfinished levy projects.
Catmull told the board the district had a $4.5 million fund balance but noted roughly $2 million of that was designated for contingency and about $1 million or more earmarked for unfinished levy projects; the remaining balance is available to cover unexpected expenses, according to the audit review.
Trustee Claridge moved to approve the audit; Vice Chair Mary Andersen seconded and the motion carried. The special meeting minutes record approval of the audit and that the board would consider Minico equipment requests (e.g., track high jump/pole vault mats with an approximate quote of $11,800) at a future meeting.
The audit documents were provided to trustees in the Boardbook and the minutes state the audit review and approval are incorporated into the official record.
