Hautzma said the recorder's revenue outlook is stable but noted the recorder equipment fund carries "a negative balance of a little over $5,800" due to prior-year shifts. She told commissioners the county is building the compliance fund to cover aerial flyovers scheduled for 2029 that are estimated at about $175,000, and that recorder-side expenses are projected to increase roughly 9% overall driven by cola and health insurance.
On the assessor side, Hautzma said the assessor's budget is projected to increase about 3.8%, in part because the office did not replace an appraiser this year, producing a roughly six-month salary savings. She also described changes to inter-jurisdictional assessment contracts the county is phasing in and noted early-season indicators that permit counts and recordings may be stabilizing.
