Carlinville CUSD 1 trustees voted Oct. 14 to purchase a used dump truck from Victory Lane Ford for $34,298.
Dr. Becky Schuchman reported the district has been seeking a replacement for roughly a year to replace a vehicle that had become unreliable. The vehicle under consideration is gasoline-powered and not four-wheel-drive; trustees approved the purchase after a motion by Andrew Johnson and a second by Sam Harding, with a 6-0 roll-call vote (Seth Roberts absent).
Board members noted the district also has a maintenance truck that will need replacement in the near future; the approved purchase addresses an immediate operational need for grounds and maintenance work.
