Carlinville CUSD 1 trustees authorized Dr. Becky Schuchman Oct. 14 to negotiate a lease with Bryce Hammann for a local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to use space at the district's Aladdin property.
Schuchman said the proposed tenant would use the space to host volunteer events building beds for children. She cautioned the board the Aladdin building is not climate controlled, does not have water access in the relevant area and must be designated not for educational use if leased for this purpose. She said the organization would have to provide proof of insurance and add the district as an additional insured; the board asked for a specification of required square footage before finalizing rent.
Kyle Bradley moved to authorize Schuchman to work with Sleep in Heavenly Peace on a lease at a price to be set based on square footage; the motion passed 6-0 on roll-call.
