Taos County commissioners approved a personnel reclassification on Jan. 14 that upgrades one road maintenance operator position in District 2 to a maintenance operator 2, increasing the pay grade and hourly rate.
The planning and public-works presentation noted District 2 maintains 93.62 miles of roads (84.77 miles unpaved) and said the higher classification and pay are needed given the district's size and operational demands. The hourly rate for the reclassified position will move from $20.43 to $22.31.
Commissioners discussed the operational need and voted to approve the reclassification as part of the consent agenda.
