The Jacksonville School District #117 board approved a personnel slate Jan. 15 that included resignations, hires, long-term substitutes and numerous extra-duty and 6th-period stipends for high school staff.
Mrs. Wilson moved and Mrs. Leonard seconded approval of the personnel recommendations. Approved resignations included paraprofessionals Rashana Wells (effective Jan. 4) and Katie Ring (effective Jan. 3). New hires included classified special education paraprofessional Tanika Davis (retroactive effective Jan. 13) and long-term substitute art teacher Sara Balster for the second semester. Several staff at Jacksonville High School were approved for 6th-period stipends, commonly listed at $2,250 for the second semester; one assistant girls varsity basketball coach stipend was pro-rated at $2,182.79.
The board also approved family medical leave requests and maternity-leave adjustments for several employees, including a revision to counselor Audrey Brown’s maternity and FMLA schedule. The personnel slate, including leaves and stipends, passed by roll call with all present members voting yea.
The transcript lists individual stipend amounts and positions in full, which are reflected in board minutes; the meeting record does not indicate debate on these items, which were approved as part of the action items.
