Council approves land-use amendment and rezoning at 4306 E. Hancock Street

The council opened a public hearing July 27 on a land-use amendment that would allow a rezone for property at 4306 East Hancock Street and heard planning staff explain the change. Planning staff said the rezone did not conform to the current future land use map, which is why the amendment was required; staff recommended approval of the amendment and the subsequent rezoning ordinance to change the parcel from agricultural to light industrial.
"This is the rezone piece to what we just talked about...we do recommend approval," planning staff said during the hearing. No members of the public offered opposition on the sign-in sheet; the council closed the public hearing, moved to approve, and approved the land-use amendment and the rezoning ordinance by roll call.
The votes were recorded on the council roll calls for each motion. Staff and the planning department will implement the ordinance changes in the municipal code and notify the property owner of the effective dates.
