Crainville raises water rates 5% starting May 1 to offset Rend Lake increases

Rend Lake Water District notified Crainville that it will raise wholesale water rates 5% each year for the next three years. To offset those higher costs, the Village Board voted on April 14 to increase retail water rates by 5% beginning May 1, 2026 (motion by Mike Harbin; seconded by John Oetjen). The motion passed unanimously.
Pam Borders’ department report noted the village serves 809 water customers and 621 garbage customers. The Board recorded the rate change and instructed staff to update billing to reflect the May 1 effective date.
