Study shows potential $624,000 tax implication for Ogdensburg under Wallkill Valley regionalization

CFO Mike Marceau and Ogdensburg School Superintendent Dave Astor briefed the council on a Wallkill Valley regionalization efficiency study the borough joined. The study examines options ranging from full consolidation to continued shared-service agreements among Wallkill Valley, Hamburg, Franklin, Hardyston and Ogdensburg.
Astor pointed council members to the study’s tax-implementation analysis (page 174), saying "it would be $624,000. This would be broken up into nine or ten years." He emphasized that the steer committee and superintendents have generally recommended pursuing shared services, and he encouraged residents to attend a Dec. 10 online presentation run by Hamburg’s board.
