Crainville tables budget and grocery-tax ordinance; schedules continued meeting and holds executive session
Summary

The board decided to table the village budget for further discussion at a continued meeting scheduled for May 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Notices of the continued meeting will be posted on the Village Hall front door and the village website.
The proposed Grocery Tax Ordinance was also tabled to the May 26 continued meeting. During the May 12 meeting the board entered executive session at 7:20 p.m. to discuss legal and personnel issues and reconvened at 7:35 p.m.; the motion to enter executive session was made by Art Mize and seconded by Jim Rains and carried unanimously (Motion 8).
Clerk Jacquelyn Chapman signed the minutes and will post continued-meeting notices as required. The minutes do not record action on the budget or the grocery-tax ordinance at the May 12 session; both await the continued meeting.
