Board okays veterans' wreaths, $500 for 911 server update and notes Homefield aggregation rate

At the May 12 meeting the board approved multiple small items under new business. The board voted to purchase 10 honor wreaths for placement on veterans' graves at Carterville City Cemetery in December at a total cost of $170, to be paid from the Village General Fund (Motion 6: John Oetjen moved; Art Mize seconded).
The board also approved a $500 contribution to the City of Marion to assist with a software update for the regional 911 server, whose update cost Marion estimated at $40,000; the contribution will come from the General Fund (Motion 7: John Oetjen moved; Jim Rains seconded). Separately, Sam Jones reported Homefield Aggregation's offered rate of 0.11378 KWH and said Homefield assured the village that residents who opt out will not have to complete opt-out paperwork each year.
The board received, but did not act on, a request from Carterville for a block-party donation. The proposed Grocery Tax Ordinance was tabled to the continued meeting on May 26.
