The Crainville Village Board voted May 12 to award Turners Table $20,000 from the village's tax-increment financing (TIF) account to fund proposed exterior maintenance at the restaurant. The board approved disbursing the funds in two $10,000 installments, the first at the start of the work and the second upon project completion.
The grant was moved by Mike Harbin and seconded by Jim Rains; all present voted yea and President Sam Jones declared the motion carried. The restaurant provided a project proposal and projected revenue for the coming fiscal year; the board found the proposal eligible for TIF support. The board also noted that a portion of the project cost will come from the Village General Fund over the project period as described in the proposal.
The board approved the grant during its regular meeting; the decision does not specify construction start dates or a project completion deadline in the minutes. The board will monitor progress and disburse the second installment after work is verified as complete.
