The newly seated Board of Education for North Shore School District 112 elected its leadership for the next two years at an Organizational Meeting on April 22, 2025.
By unanimous voice votes, Art Kessler was elected Board President, Melissa Itkin was elected Vice President and Jenny Butler was elected Secretary. The officers will serve two-year terms through the next election cycle in April 2027. The election was conducted by President Pro Tem Lisa Hirsh after newly elected members were sworn in earlier in the meeting.
The board made the appointments during the formal officer-election process after Dr. Michael Lubelfeld called the newly constituted board to order. President Kessler thanked trustees for entrusting him with the role and said he looked forward to working with the new board. The meeting record shows the votes were unanimous voice approvals with no roll-call tallies provided.
Next steps: the board indicated it would convene a Regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. following the organizational session to begin substantive business for the evening.
