The Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee (PRCAC) opened a strategic-planning process for its Transportation Benefit District (TBD) and launched a public survey the committee said will shape a five‑year plan intended for adoption in November 2026.
"The survey is gonna be open through August 15," said Rhys Torvald Hansen, an at‑large PRCAC member who co‑hosted the session. Hansen described the survey as one element of a multi‑step outreach campaign that will include key‑informant interviews, paper copies at the community center, and a public review of a draft plan before it returns to PRCAC for adoption.
Hansen said individual survey responses will be aggregated in the plan appendices to protect privacy, though attributed interview responses may be used in grant applications to demonstrate community support. He also asked the county liaison to post slides and links on the CAC website and said PRCAC members will distribute paper surveys at other community meetings.
The committee framed the process as resident‑led: PRCAC cochairs Jeff Christopher and Hansen emphasized that community priorities should drive whether the TBD pursues smaller recurring maintenance, larger capital projects, or a hybrid approach. The survey and additional outreach are intended to surface those preferences and produce a project list that can be reviewed by the county executive and council for inclusion in county plans.
