The Rankin School District #98 Board of Education approved the Student Council’s overnight trip to the Illinois Association of Junior High Student Councils (IAJHSC) state convention April 11–12, 2025.
Member Nena Cox moved and Member Leann Kohl seconded the motion to approve the trip; the board voted 5-0 in favor. Student Council President Lewis Beckham presented the report during the visitors' portion of the meeting noting recent StuCo activities and upcoming events. The board’s motion states the trip is a school-sponsored event and that all school rules and regulations will apply while students are attending.
The principal and Student Council will continue preparing logistics; staff noted the trip will follow district chaperone and conduct policies.
