Rankin board adopts Title IX sexual-harassment grievance procedure

The Rankin School District #98 Board of Education voted to adopt Policy 2:265 (Title IX Sexual Harassment Grievance Procedure) from the PRESS (Policy Reference Education Subscription Service) memo (August 2020) at the Jan. 27 meeting.
Member Nena Cox moved and Member Lowman seconded adoption of the policy; the roll call vote was unanimous (5-0). The meeting minutes also note that the district added back related administrative procedures and exhibits (2:265-AP1, 2:265-AP2, and 2:265-E) into the district’s administrative procedures manual. The board recorded the administrative material under Information Items and referenced the PRESS memo versions from August 2020.
Board members stated the action brings district procedures into alignment with recommended grievance processes; the minutes show no dissent and no amendments were recorded.
