Committee prioritizes RTU replacements, track repairs and phased playground upgrades

Dr. Matt Gordon noted that four of the five rooftop units (RTUs) serving the 2004 addition have not been replaced and are nearing the end of their life cycles. The group also discussed additional repairs and sealing for the track (last sealed in 2019) and referenced a 2022 playground inspection that estimated a remaining life expectancy of about 2—10 years for some equipment; Dr. Gordon recommended a phased plan for playground replacement and upgrades.
The committee asked staff to explore costs and develop tentative timelines for the RTU replacements, track work and playground phases; Dr. Gordon said he would proceed with those next steps and report back.
