River Forest SD 90 hears K–3 ELA implementation update on Wilson Fundations

Dr. Trendel reviewed progress on K–3 literacy using Wilson Fundations, displayed grade-level phonics skill visuals, and presented videos of teachers discussing engagement with quality texts and critical thinking by each grade level; she also showed student-produced writing examples. She described planned curricular-related enhancements and details for year two of implementation, and said she felt "excitement and incredible pride" in the work staff and students have accomplished. A lengthy board discussion followed about implementation progress and next steps.
