The Lindsborg City Council approved purchasing seven solar trail lights and poles from First Light Technologies for $22,892.25 to extend lighting on the north loop of the Välkommen Trail. The City received a grant through the Sunflower Foundation’s Paving the Way program to fund the installation and related trail programming; the fixtures match two existing solar lights installed on that loop in 2019.
Councilmember Kirsten Bruce moved to authorize the purchase; Councilmember Lysa Palmer‑Augusta seconded and the motion passed 5‑0 by roll call vote. Staff explained using the same manufacturer allows centralized control of all fixtures through a single app and leverages proven reliability of existing lights.
