Facilities staff reported that the Judicial Center geothermal HVAC project, long in planning, has progressed to on-site work.
The staff member said the RFP for the geothermal HVAC was released late last November and that "the judicial center HVAC started today," adding that project activity will be relatively quiet the first week and will ramp up next Monday. Drilling in the geothermal field is expected in about 6–8 weeks, and the contractor’s schedule was described as targeting completion in roughly nine months.
Staff added that weekly coordination meetings with affected departments would be held on Thursday mornings to monitor schedule and staging, and that certain parking areas will be blocked for equipment and crew staging while the work continues.
