Susan, a staff member presenting the budget, said: "Yes, for the fire district, budget we are anticipating revenues totaling 5,400,000" and described a beginning fund balance of 1.3 and budgeted expenditures of 6,000,000 with a projected ending fund balance of $732,742. She said the tentative budget will be adjusted in coordination with department heads and then reviewed by the budget committee at the end of April before returning to the commission for final approval.
Commissioner Gale moved to approve the tentative budget "as presented," and the motion was seconded by Demo. The commission proceeded to a voice vote; three affirmative "aye" responses were recorded and the chair declared, "That motion carries." The action approves the tentative FY 2025–26 budget; staff were directed to continue revisions and prepare materials for the final budget vote.
The meeting record also notes the chair opened the floor to the public under Nevada open-meeting rules but no public comments were recorded on the budget during the meeting. The commission adjourned and indicated it would reconvene (or attend) the County Commission meeting at 01:30.
