Council appoints Laci Werner and Alton “Dean” Harris to represent dealers and snowmobile users

The Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Council voted to fill two vacant seats at its June 17 meeting. Following a floor vote, the council accepted the roll-call tally and appointed Laci Werner as the Dealership Representative; Sheriff Nathan Curtis moved to accept the tally and Brody Johnson seconded the confirmation, which passed via roll call.
The council also appointed Alton "Dean" Harris as Snowmobile Representative after a unanimous floor vote in which all seven voting members supported Harris. Members highlighted Harris's recent work on single-track fuel issues in Logan Canyon and a state parking grant at Franklin Basin during the discussion prior to the vote.
The council took care to follow Open and Public Meetings Act (OPMA) rules after legal counsel advised that character judgments should occur in a noticed executive session; evaluations instead relied on submitted materials, land-manager relationships, and public histories.
