Cozzi said contractors attributed overages to difficulty finding subcontractors and economic uncertainty.
The contract scope includes a $150,000 landscaping allowance; Cozzi said the district will attempt to minimize landscaping costs and defer lower-priority summer projects to offset the overage. The motion to award the bid passed unanimously on roll call.
