The Board awarded the Lincoln Courtyard Water Relocation contract to apparent low bidder D. Kersey Construction for $448,200, including performance bond. Chief Operations Officer Anthony Cozzi presented three bids (D. Kersey Construction $448,200; Paul Borg Construction $477,400; Charpie Construction $480,000) and noted the district contracted civil engineer’s estimate was $320,000. Cozzi said contractors attributed overages to difficulty finding subcontractors and economic uncertainty.
The contract scope includes a $150,000 landscaping allowance; Cozzi said the district will attempt to minimize landscaping costs and defer lower-priority summer projects to offset the overage. The motion to award the bid passed unanimously on roll call.
